REBIRTH OF COOL was born from a love of everything retro, an obsession with recycling and the joy of seeing something unwanted turned into something much loved.
Hi, my name is Gen, and I'm a vintage sheet addict. I'm also a wife, mumma and midwife in the making. Sewing is my craft, and it allows me to stay at home while my boy grows, and while I find my way into the wonderful world of midwifery.
I started collecting vintage sheets six years ago and began sewing dresses for my nieces. Soon after, REBIRTH OF COOL was born: original clothing for children made from upcycled vintage linens.
My range is built on a small number of timeless designs that will give your child years of wear, with elastic necklines and waistbands allowing room to grow. The fabrics used are vintage sheets purchased from charity stores. They are high quality pure cotton and polycotton blends, both of which are hardwearing yet beautiful and soft. As I often only have one sheet in any given print, every item is a limited edition or one-of-a-kind. All of my creations are handmade by me in Sydney, Australia, using my 1950s Singer sewing machine and finished with my 1960s Babylock overlocker (my minty green machines).
So have a look around, make yourself at home, and I hope you find something you love. I truly appreciate your support.
